 Corona: Vaccination Variables and their Consequence

Since 2019 the world is aware of what a Pandemic does to us, a year has passed and we are yet to find out a cure for this curse on us and on the other hand, the virus mutates into different kinds which baffles the scientist. The constant urge to find a cure has made long progress in its own means, regardless of the field, the quest for a cure has caused us more time, resources and lives.

It’s an established fact that vaccines save millions of lives every year, and they are the only way to eradicate COVID-19. Vaccines function by conditioning and improving the immune system's ability to recognize and combat pathogens. Over 50 COVID-19 vaccine candidates are currently being tested around the world. Frontline staff will be given the vaccines that have been developed.

Russia’s Sputnik V was the 1^st of its type to be developed and approved in 2020 and was the fastest ever vaccine to be developed at a time of pandemic yet it had a long way from true success. It had a 92% protection against Covid-19.

Covishield, manufactured in the Serum Institute of India was developed under the partnership with Oxford University and Astra Zeneca. The Health Ministry of India approved this vaccine under the condition of “restricted use in an emergency situation”. Argentina, El Salvador, Mexico, Bangladesh are other countries that approved of Covishield.

Covaxin is India's first COVID-19 vaccine developed in-house. It's a pathogenic vaccine that reduces the virus's ability to replicate while leaving it intact enough for the immune system to identify it and mount an immune response. Covaxin aids in the formation of antibodies in the body of the host. COVAXINTM was approved by the Drugs Controller General of India for Phase 3 clinical trials with 26,000 participants in over 25 centers across India after successfully completing the interim report from the Phase 1 and 2 clinical trials.

Mynvax employs a novel approach involving a protein-based vaccine. This vaccine can be kept at room temperature for up to one month without losing its efficacy. Cold chains are no longer needed. Formal safety and toxicity tests, process improvement, human clinical trials, and manufacturing are now underway for the vaccine. This heat-tolerant vaccine can withstand temperatures of 70°C for nearly 16 hours, and the freeze-dried version can withstand temperatures of 100°C.

The human race survives under two laws: Survival of the fittest and struggle of existence but we humans prove it time to time that whatever struggle we might face, we tend to come out with new solutions and ways to develop for the betterment.
